Ghost Towers

Ghosting through the atmosphere while traces of sound remain trapped inside a towering metal lattice and tendon-like wire. Sounds formed by the tower’s interaction with the environment while taut lines hum a barely audible tune of solitude. Air movement plucking at the wire stays and vibrating the tower. Electro-magnetic forces invisibly tickling the air. The lonely tower calls to others on distant hills. Ghost Tower is centered around Te Ahumairangi Hill above Thorndon, Wellington.

Ghost Tower geographically places three towers situated at Mt. Kaukau, Wrights Hill and Mt. Victoria in Wellington as an octophonic sound work to establish a conversation between all four towers. The work presented here is a stereo rendering of that work.
